A big thank you to Alexei Yagudin for taking the time to answer some questions from his online fans!*

Dear Alexei,
What are your favorite ways to spend the off-season? (Or do you have an off-season? LOL!)
Nicole - NLeigh
During the off season I really enjoy going to the beach and relaxing. I also love to travel and visit my friends and family back home in Russia.   Last month I took an exam and received my boat license.  So maybe next summer I will do some sailing on my own!

Dear Alexei,
What is your favorite memory from touring with Stars on Ice?
Becca84
Without doubt, opening night.  This is the day when for the first time, we present a new show to the people.  For us, it is very important because we work so hard to make this happen.  We are so anxious to see the audience's reaction.  This is the show in which we will be touring North America for almost five months and it makes the opening night so exciting.

Privet!
Why the iron mask was gold? (I mean the colour of your costume)
dewDrop
Actually, it was bronze.  My costume designer thought this would look better.

Dear Alexei,
"This is a question on behalf of all the Spanish people who usually post on the Spanish Speaking Forum. We have read in an interview that the Stars on Ice is planning to do some shows around Europe.. Is there any chance for us to see you skating live here in Spain (or somewhere "close to", for example France) with Stars on Ice or any other show in the near future? We Spanish fans long to see you skating live! :-)"

Stars on Ice is coming to Belgium this November.  I would love to skate in Spain hopefully one day soon.   Also, I may do some shows in France although right now there is nothing on my schedule there.

Dear Alexei,
Oh my gosh, this is so exciting! lol
Hey Alexei! First, thank you for skating in all those Stars on Ice and Canadian Stars on Ice shows, you're so dedicated.
This is a 2 part "gift" question, lol.

A)You have probably received a lot of gifts over the years from your fans. What gift was Funniest? Weirdest? Or the gift that touched you the most?
The cutest gift I ever received was a sweater hand knitted.  Every time I wear it, I feel the warmth of  the people who spent so much time do something like this for me.   Also, I really appreciate the gifts of origami especially when thousands of pieces of paper are connected in intricate designs.  It amazes me to know how much time and dedication the people spent on this project. The funniest gift was also the weirdest.  It was a pair of boxers!

B) And the second part to the question is: what do you do with alllll of them?
Thanks so much for answering Alexei!! Take care!
True Blue
I read all of my fan mail and keep my gifts.  I apologize if I do not always answer my letters but I truly thank you all of your thoughts and well wishes over the years.

Hi Alexei!
I've read many times that you're learning French.  Since it's my native language, I know how hard it can be and I was wondering if you find it more difficult than English was and if you asked help from David Pelletier or Isabelle Brasseur during the Stars On Ice tour.  Thank you !
Marie
Swt-Marie
Bonjour!   Learning a new language is difficult but I really enjoy doing it because it allows me to get closer to another culture, to learn more about different people and to expand my horizons.

I love you Alexei!
Do you read your messageboard?
AnnaLuvsAlexei
Yes, I try to read my message board as often as I can.

Dear Alexei,
First of all congratulations on this past season, I saw you at Stars on Ice both in Bridgeport and Worcester and you did an amazing job. Thank you!
My question: I'd like to know what you think of Vladimir Visotsky's songs. I particularly like Maya Cyganskaya and Bolshoy
Karetniy.......any chance of seeing you skate to either one of those?
Wishing you all the best for the future.
Love
Poka Poka -Isabella
I like Vladimir Visotsky's songs but I do not think they will be good for a skating program.  I agree with many people who think that his songs represent in many cases the heart and soul of Russian people but I think that these songs should be listened to in private because sometimes they are too personal.

Hi Alexei,
I'm a coach from British Columbia and I was just curious about your training schedule, more specifically the off ice training you did when you competed.  What was the percentage of off ice training versus on ice training and could you give me some examples of the types of things you did?
Thanks,
Bobbi Shaw bobalina
In "Alexei's Corner" in Spotlight on Skating Magazine, I once wrote an article describing my training regiment.  I cannot answer this question in a few sentences and I hope you can read my article because I know it will answer your questions better.

Dear Alexei,
Which historical figure can you identify with the most?
Silver Lining
You know, I do not want to be identified with a historical figure.  I just want to be a regular happy "dude" who really enjoys his life and likes what he does.

Alexeï,
I saw you skating the first time in Courchevel's show and j ' was admiring of your programs Racing and Feelings! ( Wow )! My question: please, envisage you to participate in shows in France as in Japan? One of my dreams c ' is that you participate in Stars on Ice in France! Thank you for ' advance to answer me! Good rest and thank you for Brian!
Gislaine aka Mamouchka
I really enjoyed skating in Courchevel and of course I love skating in Japan.   My favorite Grand Prix even was always Trophee Lalique in Paris and I really really like to come to France. Unfortunately, there are not that many shows happening in France or the FFSG did not invite me to some of them.  I would be happy to come if I am invited.

Alexei,
When your hip is not bothering you, do you prefer to skate in competitions of shows?
~Elizabeth Elizalexei
I enjoy the intensity and adrenalin rush during both competitions and professional shows.   Obviously, these are two different kinds of skating but it is a great thing for me now that I can combine both of them in my career.

Alexei,
I was wondering why you and Mishin think that you became ill at the Nagano Olympics because you sat in a draft with wet hair?  I've read that Elvis Stojko had the flu during the early part of the week.  Isn't it likely that you caught it from him?
Diane
I am not sure why Mishin thinks that way.  I just got sick during the Nagano Olympics and to tell you the truth, I do not know why.

Dear Alexei,
What do you think of the American girls like Kwan, Cohen and Nikodinov?
Deelite
My advice to you guys, watch out for Kimmie Meissner at the coming Olympics.  I truly believe that she can surprise us all.

Hello Mr. Yagudin,
Thank you for your time in answering these questions.
Looking over the past five years, you've grown tremendously as a skater. You now have a collection of medals including an Olympic gold. Looking ahead to the next five years, what do you hope to accomplish?  Where do you hope to be?
Sincerely,
Karen
I really like what I am doing now.  I am skating, I am coaching, I am enjoying life.  This is what I want to do, not only for the next five years, but for as long as I can.  Trust me, professional athletes are the same as you.  We all want the same, simple things in life!

Hello Alexei,
Thank you for giving us this opportunity.
Have you come to any decision about what your programs will be for the 2004-2005 season yet and will you be creating them yourself or will you ask for input from either Chris Dean or Tatiana?  Could you give us a hint about them, please? (Sorry, I know that's two questions!  LOL)
Nan
Yes.  The programs are ready and I hope you will like them.  I have prepared some surprises and I will be very excited for you to enjoy them.

Dear Alexei
Why do you like traveling to Japan? For Japanese fans or do you like Japanese culture, food and everything?
Valka
I love everything about the Japanese culture.   It is a very different culture from what we are used to in the West and the East.  I remember the first time I came to Japan, I had an eye-opening experience.  I love the food, the clothes, the technology and of course SUSHI!

Dear Alexei,
What do you think about Brian's chances next year??
Sophie. Fan2Yags
If Brian works hard and dedicates himself 100% to his goal, he can be one of the best in the world.

Alexei
Since your are no more an elligible skater, you came less often in France. Are you expecting to come in France for Lalique Trophy to support Brian?
Corinne , A french fan known last December in Courchevel
I don't think that this year I will be coming to France for the Grand Prix event.

Alexei,
Now that your favorite television show "Friends" is over, what are you going to watch on TV?
Jamie
Although the new episodes of "Friends" are over, there are always re-run episodes.  I am sure that a new show will come on soon that I enjoy just as much!

Hi, my name is Annika and I want to know when Stars on Ice plans to come to Europe. Will it be together with the official Stars on Ice Tour in Winter or will it be separately??? We love you Alexei.....*kiZz*
